When it comes to feeding my kids lunch, it's really easy for me to get stuck in a rut. I feel like I feed them the same rotation of four or five things, and after a while we all get bored with them. When Marie Callender’s asked if I wanted to partner with them and their frozen meals, it dawned on me that serving them for lunch would be a great way to give us some variety while keep preparation quick and easy.

We tried the Fettucine with Chicken & Broccoli, and my kids LOVED it. They kept asking for more! So from here on out I think it's safe to say we'll be incorporating them a bit more regularly!

This fall Marie Callender's launched something called the Comforts From Home Project. The project makes it easy for you and me to support the brave men and women in the U.S. military. Simply enter the eight-digit code on specially marked packages of Marie Callender’s Facebook dinners and desserts online at ComfortsFromHome.com and they'll send a $0.50 donation to the USO2GO program. USO2GO is a USO program that brings kits filled with electronics, sports gear, books, games, and more to to troops stationed in remote areas around the world.

Each kit will contain the comforts of home, such as games, athletic equipment, books, and furnishings. USO2GO kits transform a remote base into a place troops can organize a pick-up football game, relax in beanbag chairs and swap stories, or send emails to loved ones back home.

You can visit ComfortsFromHome.com to learn more about how you can join Marie Callender's in helping to bring a little more of home sweet home to our U.S service men and women overseas.

For every entry by 1/31/15 of an 8-digit code found on participating products, Marie Callender's will donate $0.50 to the USO2GO program. Guaranteed minimum donation: $100,000. Maximum donation: $250,000. Limit 5 code entries per person/computer per day. Valid in U.S. only.

With everything going on in the world these days, I feel like it's more important than ever to be teaching our kids about how much the service men and women do to protect our freedom. This is a great tool to get the conversation going! I plan to show my kids the codes on these boxes and use them as a reminder as to how we need to show thanks and give back to the people who fight so hard for us.
