On Friday afternoon, Jake and I went in for baby #4’s 20 week anatomy scan. As we walked into the clinic so many emotions overcame me. The last time we went in for a 20 week ultrasound, we found out I was pregnant with twins. That was by far the most overwhelmed and surprised I’ve ever been in my life.IMG_1320

This time, I knew going in we weren’t going to find out we were having twins, but I think naturally I was still nervous. There’s so much they’re looking for and checking out. With my other pregnancies I felt like making it through the 20 week anatomy scan was such a big relief.

After our ultrasound on Friday the doctor went through each picture slide by slide and explained exactly what they were looking for and how our baby was doing. It was by far the most thorough explanation we’ve had after an ultrasound. It made me appreciate the miracle of life even more. My baby currently weighs 13 oz, but we were able to see every little detail, including the four chambers of the heart, the tiny toes and fingers, how the little intestines were working, and everything else.

All the measurements concluded that our sweet babe is healthy and right on track. AND, we found out that we’re having a baby BOY! We couldn’t be more excited about our bookend boys. I’m excited for the relationship he and Baylen will have being less than three years apart. Itsa...BOY

Thank you for all your prayers and support and excitement for us as we get ready to welcome this little guy. I am so grateful for each one of you!

XOXO,

Amber
