UPDATE: Winners of the giveaway are Amy Holter and Sara Percifull! Thank you to all who entered!

One thing I love about blogging is the chance it gives me to meet women across the country and world who are just like me, making their way through the trenches of motherhood. I love that being mommies gives us so much common ground, and that we can walk together through the highs and lows.

I also love when I meet a mom who has discovered what makes her the best mom she can be. Sometimes it means that she’s found an outlet that she can escape to that helps her keep a piece of her own identity while she raises her kids.

Well, today I’m so honored to share the story of Johanna, who’s done just that. She’s an interior designer by trade, but now spends her time at home with three sweet kiddos. When she found out her third baby was a GIRL (her first!), she used her degree in knowing how to make things beautiful, and shifted the focus in a new direction. While she was still pregnant, she started making loads and loads of headbands to match her baby girl’s outfits. After she was born Johanna took her everywhere wearing headbands, and they caught the attention of everybody. Soon she started making them for her nieces, and then friends and family started making requests. Of course she said, YES! She was thrilled with an excuse to make more headbands! She decided then and there that it was time to MAKE IT OFFICIAL!

LILLIE’S LOVELIES opened in October of 2014 and started getting orders immediately!

Johanna sent me two clips for my twin girls because they won’t keep in headbands right now. I was so impressed with how they stayed in their hair! My girls have really fine hair, but the clips have some added texture to help them stay in.

What I love about Johanna’s story is that she just went for it! She found something she loved doing, and found a way to incorporate it into her life as a mom. I can relate to her because that’s what blogging has been for me.

I loved being a stay at home mom, but I also wanted an outlet for myself. I love writing, and prayed that God would use it in some way. I started a small blog, and thanks to a handful of people who supported and believed in me in the beginning, I kept going. And now, I get to connect with more women than I ever could have imagined.

All that to say, I love supporting moms who are just starting themselves. I know what it feels like to be small and wonder where it could go from there. I know what it feels like to want to grow, but patiently wait for your turn to come. I don’t have the capacity to review every single mom business out there, but if I could I would. I want to commend any of you out there who are starting or thinking about starting something. If the time seems right, GO for it! It’s okay to have something for YOU!

And with that, I’d love for you to help me support Johanna as she starts up her business. Her products are simply adorable and would make precious baby gifts. She recently opened a shop on Storenvy here: Lillie’s Lovelies on Storenvy where you can shop all her creations. She’s also on Facebook: Lillie’s Lovelies and Instagram: @lilliesloveliesboutique.

From now until January 23rd, she’s giving away a free Sugary Sweet headband or clip (pictured below) with any order placed!

These are adorable! If we end up having a girl, I’ll keep it for her! Otherwise, I’ll gift it to a momma friend of mine who has a girl.

I’m going to buy some headbands for my sister if she is having a girl! She finds out this Saturday at a gender reveal party. I have a 1year old that refuses to wear headbands and also has super thin hair so its awesome to know they will stay in 🙂
