The Fitness Package That Has All The Moms Talking Is ON SALE!

Two years ago I was a mom of 4 kids under 4 (including twins). I hadn’t struggled to get the baby weight off after my first two pregnancies, but after baby number four? Man, I was riding the STRUGGLE BUS.

I was at a point when my maternity clothes were too big, but I still wasn’t fitting into my pre baby clothes comfortably. I didn’t feel my best and it was affecting my mood toward my husband and kids. I spent most of my days wearing yoga pants and baggy sweatshirts to try to hide my problem areas. We had also been so busy with the kids that we weren’t prioritizing nutrition. We’d order in take-out several times a week and our diet was pretty heavy in carbs. We were operating in survival mode, and I was sick of it. I reached a low one day when I realized that I had to make a lifestyle change. I wanted to kick the extra baby weight and flab to the curb once and for all and needed something to give me a little extra motivation. I was also hoping I could find something that would help with my anxiety and postpartum depression, which only seemed to be getting worse.

One day I saw a friend posting about the 21 Day Fix and Shakeology on Facebook. I told myself it was a scam and just another one of those network marketing companies that was trying to push products.

But for whatever reason, I clicked on her post.

I showed my husband, and right away he was like, “No, we don’t need to spend money on that. We already have a gym membership.”

Defeated, I kept scrolling.

But something kept drawing me back to it. Yes, I had a gym membership, but I wasn’t getting results. I would wander around and grab a machine that was free, maybe go for a run and do some free weights and abs, and often leave having done a less than average workout. So, with my husband hardly on board, I purchased the 21 Day Fix. I too was somewhat skeptical since I’ve always been a gym person, but I thought what the heck, I didn’t have much to lose if it didn’t work.

I popped in the DVDs and started the workouts in my basement. They were only 30 minutes but they KICKED MY BUTT. I also learned how to eat the right portions of the right food groups without having to count calories or macros, which was incredibly freeing and simple to maintain!

For the first time since having kids, I started to recognize my body again and felt comfortable in my post-baby skin.

However, I was still extremely low on energy. I could get through the workouts but then I was so tired and sore the next day that I started skipping workouts here and there and again felt defeated.

That’s when I decided to try Shakeology. I thought it was just another protein shake and didn’t understand why it was so expensive, but it came with a money back guarantee, so again I thought, what the heck do I have to lose?!

I started drinking it daily and after a few days I could already start telling a major difference. I had more energy, I was recovering from my workouts faster so I wasn’t as sore, and I wasn’t craving as much junk food and carbs. It also tasted like a chocolate milkshake, which was perfect for my chocoholic tendencies.

I did some research and learned that what I was drinking wasn’t just a protein shake. It was packed full of superfoods from around the world, had prebiotics, probiotics, digestive enzymes, and it didn’t have crap it in that the shakes I could find at Target or Walmart had. This was a quality product, and it had changed my life so much that I wanted to continue drinking it.

The hubby told me it had to be an instead of cost, not an on top of cost, so I decided to find a way to budget for it. It came to about $30 per week that I had to cut out of my Target run, which was possible. I mean, I couldn’t pick up as many random things as I used to, but it was worth the sacrifice. 😉

Eventually, I felt so good (it was helping me mentally too) that I was at a crossroads. Never in a million years did I think I’d ever want to build a business in network marketing, but I undoubtedly NEEDED and WANTED to share this incredible tool with other moms who were struggling like me. Whether they just wanted to tone up, lose 100 pounds, or do something in between, I knew I had a solution for them that would actually work. It wasn’t a fad diet, but a maintainable lifestyle.

For two years now, I have been a Team Beachbody Coach, and it is truly the most rewarding job I could have ever prayed for. Every day I get to interact with other women who have the goal of making themselves BETTER and STRONGER for their families. I get to walk alongside them in the thick of their struggle and see them come out victorious on the other side.

It’s not about helping them get six packs (although that happens), it’s about watching them become confident from the inside out and having energy to live their lives to the fullest!

Many of the women who have come through my online boot camps have decided to join me as business partners, and now THEY are paying forward the gift of health to the ones they love while providing for their families!

Success Stories: Women Who Are MORE Than Conquerors!

I was listening to a sermon this morning, and it really hit home in my heart. It talked about how even after we accept Jesus into our hearts, often times we struggle to accept grace. We know that our sins have been forgiven, but when we continue to struggle and fall back into our own ways, we’re filled with incredible amounts of guilt.

I can totally relate. For example, when I’m with my kids and it gets crazy and no one’s listening and I raise my voice a little (okay, a lot)? I feel so guilty about it, and in that moment I feel like the worst mom in the world. Instead of remembering that His grace is enough, I tell myself that I’m not as good as other moms. Surely they don’t mess up as much as me.

Oh how I want my DEFAULT to be remembering that His grace NEVER runs out.

As an online health and fitness coach, my mind often goes to my physical journey and the journeys that my clients are on because there are so many parallels.

There’s a cycle that I constantly see in the lives of many of my boot campers. They sign up for an online boot camp and are super pumped up. They are full of motivation, they purchase the materials needed, game plan, and CRUSH the first couple of days, sometimes even the first entire week or two! Then reality sets in. Maybe they didn’t get much sleep the night before so they miss a workout, or a co-worker brings dessert into the office and they give in to temptation. And just like that, GUILT sets in. The momentum and excitement they had in the beginning starts to diminish, and they fall into a slippery slope, back into their old ways, and jump off the bandwagon.

See, I think what we often times forget, is that God’s grace NEVER runs out. Not even in our fitness journey! We let the guilt of making a few wrong decisions paralyze us from jumping back on the bandwagon. For whatever reason, the ways we talk to ourselves when we make poor eating decisions or choose the couch instead of a workout really penetrate to our core.

The truth is, just like in life, NO ONE is perfect in their healthy living journey! We live in a culture where we look at magazine models and think that surely they must be stronger and more disciplined than us, but I promise you, EVERY person struggles now and again.

The difference between my boot campers who succeed and reach their goals and the ones who struggle, is that they self correct faster. They fall down, but they get right back up again and keep fighting. They also are HONEST about their struggles! They lean on the other women in the group for support!

Today, I want to introduce you to some of these women in my life who inspire me DAILY to keep fighting. These women are truly MORE THAN CONQUERORS.

As Lysa Terkeurst says in her book Made To Crave, “We were made for more than being stuck in a vicious cycle of defeat. We are not made to be a victim of our poor choices. We are made to be victorious children of God.”

These women have truly embodied that truth and live it out day after day. Again, they aren’t perfect, but they are constantly focused on making baby steps of progress! If you are struggling today in your own healthy living journey, my prayer is that these women would inspire you to keep fighting the GOOD fight!

Mattie Hansen – Champlin, MN

Mattie is a married mom of two who works part time outside the home in marketing and design. For as long as she could remember, Mattie has struggled with her weight. As a kid she did her best to avoid gym class and as an adult she wasted money on gym memberships she’d never use. She got used to putting everyone and everything before herself and putting her own health on the back burner. After baby #2 was born she found herself over 200lbs. Mattie knew she needed to do something. Years of yo-yo diets weren’t working and nothing kept her on track or accountable.

In came the 21 day fix in January 2016 and she hasn’t looked back since. In the first 4 rounds of boot camp, she lost over 30lbs. In the last year she’s lost over 60. Gone is the woman who hated the gym and in place is someone who’s happier, healthier and more confident than ever. She’s learned that you don’t have to live a life uncomfortable in your own skin. That life is too short to huff and puff up the stairs. Even the kid that avoided gym can become the woman in her thirties in the best shape of her life!

Angela Lahti – Duluth, MN

Angela is wife and a mom to 4 young boys and she LOVES being a mom. Growing up she had always been active in sports and therefore, never worried too much about what foods she was eating. Yet even so, she was always self-conscious about her weight. As they grew their family, life got even busier and much more full. She spent as much time as possible with her boys and exercise started taking a backseat. She found it hard to go to the gym and arrange for a babysitter and even when she had someone, she felt too guilty leaving the kids to go workout. It felt selfish and she didn’t want to leave the kids after already having been gone at work all day. So the workouts didn’t get done. Cooking became a struggle as well. She never liked cooking so she didn’t meal plan. It was quicker to make something quick like pasta or pizza. When exercise was in the equation it didn’t seem affect her too much but when exercise wasn’t happening, it made a huge difference and her weight started increasing. Angela also struggled with a sweet tooth so each day chocolate, sweets, and flavored coffees entered her diet. So when she got pregnant with their 4th sweet baby boy, she was the heaviest she had ever been and then proceeded to gain another 45 pounds that pregnancy. She knew when the baby was born she was going to have to make some changes as she was tired of feeling sluggish, heavy, and frustrated with her clothes not fitting.

Then she stumbled across the 21 Day Fix and Shakeology. She started at 3 months postpartum, in February of 2016, with the 21-day fix and over the next few months she lost 60 pounds by incorporating 30 minute workouts, eating whole foods with portion control, and drinking Shakeology and checking in with her accountability group.

She realized that it wasn’t selfish to take time for herself to exercise.

It not only wasn’t selfish– it immensely benefited her entire family!!
By taking time to exercise, she felt so much better and was able to give MORE of herself to her family. Shakeology gave her the energy she needed and within days of starting her program she already noticed results happening. She found a LIFESTYLE that was sustainable and improved the health of not only her but her boys too. She now includes them in the kitchen preparing meals and they are all developing a love for cooking. You can often find one or more of the boys sitting up on the counter helping her cook. And she also lets them see her exercising and they often join in. They are learning exercise is a GOOD thing and healthy eating is enjoyable! After 4 babies, she feels more comfortable in her own skin now than she ever has!

Angela wants to continue to keep up with her 4 busy boys! She is looking forward to splashing with them in the lake this summer and playing in the sand on the beach. Previous years she would be the spectator if there were other people around. THIS year, she will be right there with them MAKING memories together instead of just watching. She wants EVERY mom to feel the same way!
Kids are only young once. They only get one childhood. They don’t care how their mom looked, they just want their mom to spend time with them. And Angela wants you to also feel healthy and happy and confident enough to enjoy every single moment, no matter where you are.

Angela works part time as a Radiologic Technologist and also works from home to help women also create a healthy, sustainable lifestyle. She knows it is so important to take a small amount of time out of the day to take of ourselves so we can better take care of our loved ones.

Amanda Barrett – Arbuckle, CA

Amanda is a former teacher turned stay at home mom. All she ever dreamed of was being able to stay home with her kiddos and she loved being home with them. However, she found herself exhausted halfway through the day and wishing her kiddos would nap so that she could too. She needed something for herself and when she stumbled across 21 day fix she decided to go all in.

Less than 21 days in she found the energy she’d been missing, an amazing community of women and a healthier lifestyle for herself and her family.

When she got pregnant with her 3rd baby there was no way she was giving up her new lifestyle. She was able to workout through her entire pregnancy and jump back into fitness shortly after the birth of her 3rd baby.

She’s loving living a healthy lifestyle for herself and her family and loves sharing her journey with other moms.

Jessica Ralston – San Jose, CA

This is Jessica, a busy homeschooling momma of five kids who works part time as a math tutor. Having five kids within six years left her feeling desperate for a better way to stay healthy and active. She knew she needed to take better care of herself, her husband and her family but felt too overwhelmed to brainstorm a solution. She started her weight loss journey on her own in April of 2016, but struggled with finding time to consistently exercise and be mindful with her eating. Consequently she started a pattern of weight loss and gain that lasted 6 months.

Finally in November of 2016 she reached out for support and signed up for the 21 day fix and Shakeology. She knew instantly it was a game changer. It was a major lifestyle change made easy. Rather than feeling constantly tired, suffering from migraines, grabbing fast food late after the kids were in bed, feeling guilty for not exercising, having a poor relationship with food and a negative body image… she is now working out every day, getting dense nutrition, curbing cravings with shakeology and eating balanced portions every day.

In her first three weeks she lost 7lbs and two inches! She’s continued her journey with another 3 weeks of the 21 day fix, followed by 5 weeks of 21 day fix extreme and 3 weeks of Hammer and Chisel. The photo on the right was taken March of 2017.

This biggest difference in these photos is her confidence, her self love and her readiness to experience every joy in life. Now that she is FEELING great and energetic she can experience every moment to the fullest. It’s a wonderful feeling to be the MOST you can be for the ones you LOVE.

Hilary Schaefer – Apex, NC

Hilary is a mom to two toddler girls. Growing up, she was always active but it was more for the social reasons than the health benefits. She didn’t realize it at the time, but she had a disordered view of eating and would limit her food intake to try and stay “skinny”, but a diet of Cheezits and M&Ms can only take you so far.

College and newlywed post-grad life brought a few situations where she lost 30+ pounds only to gain it back and then lose it again – just in time to get pregnant. Fast forward two years and two kids later, she was lost.

She was choosing to stay on the couch all day and had no desire to play with her kids – despite having always desired to be a stay at home mom. She hated what she saw in the mirror and cried every day in her closet. Something had to change!

Over the next few months, she lost over 35 pounds and not only changed her life – she saved it. She learned proper portion control and how to cook vegetables so they could actually taste good not just to her, but her daughters too.

She now takes time each day for herself to move so she can be a better wife, mom, and friend. She is grateful to have learned how to love herself so she can share that with her daughters and other women to encourage them to view food as fuel and exercise as a positive thing, and to not have them worry about being fat or skinny, but strong and healthy!

Follow along with her daily triumphs, struggles, and all the joys of being a toddler mom at or!

Cara Cappel – Cincinnati, OH

Cara is a mom of two toddlers, and works part time as a labor and delivery nurse.

She spent most of her life over weight and uncomfortable in her own skin. After two pregnancies in two years she had, had it. Weighing more than she ever had. She was uncomfortable, tired, short tempered and knew this wasn’t an example she wanted to set for her kids. She had tried just about every diet and exercise program known to man but thought why not this one. So she joined her first challenge group in January of 2016 just 3 months after her second was born. She jumped in with two feet and lost 10 pounds and 10 inches in 3 weeks, and hasn’t looked back.

Now down 40 pounds and over 35″ and going from barely squeezing in a 12 to wearing a 4/6 comfortably, and this is just the outside. The transformation Cara has experienced internally far out weighs the physical, she has more energy than she knows what to do with, more patience, and she feels confident in her skin for the first time in her life. She did all of this by taking just 30 min a day to move her body and fueling herself with nutrient dense foods!

Kimberly Byers – Cottage Grove, MN

This is Kimberly; a working mom of two littles and a wife. She has been a hairstylist for over 13 years and loves her job. Her husband is in the restaurant industry and works a crazy schedule.

Kimberly’s daughter has a medical condition that requires more appointments than normal and she often feels like she’s spending her days in waiting rooms and clinics.

Like all of us, she does the best she can juggling life, but this past fall she was really struggling. Having a history of depression and anxiety, Kimberly had hit a point where she was feeling like life was getting dark and her family was getting the worst of her. Knowing exercise and nutrition is so important for mental stability, she knew she needed to find something, but a gym membership (that included childcare) was expensive and time consuming. Also, it’s hard to get outside for a run with two kids in the middle of winter in Minnesota! Meals usually consisted of a muffin and coffee from the drive thru, ordering in lunch at work, and a quick casserole for dinner; with a whole lot of snacking in between!

Then along came an opportunity to start in a Challenge Group and it changed her life! She started with Core de Force and within a week Kimberly felt better. She gets up early every morning to make the time for herself, because the positive outcome will long out last the extra 30 mins of sleep. Her mood has lifted, her energy has returned and is far exceeded any normal day before, and her body feels amazing with all the great nutrition she is doing. By the end of the first month she had lost 6.5 lbs and 7.5”!!! Since then she’s gone on to do other programs; 21 Day Fix and Insanity Max:30, and is down a total of 11 lbs and 12”.

Bridget Wheeler – Oakdale, MN

Bridget is a mom of 2 very energetic boys, full time CPA working public account and wife to Tate. Most people would describe Bridget as positive, outgoing and energetic. Bridget is all those things but she also was a person that lacked confidence and has suffered from anxiety. Her confidence was the lowest it had ever been this last year. She was 8 months postpartum after having her second child and in the midst of tax season. She was upset because her body was not bouncing back like it had with her first. She was working out more and eating better than when she was prior to having him. Why was her body not changing? She knew stress and anxiety was just making it worse.

Right when her 2nd child turned 1 is when she said enough is enough. She was still was not comfortable putting on a swimsuit, She wouldn’t show her stomach to anyone and she just wanted to have confidence again in herself. Bridget start with the 21 day fix in September 2016 and saw results within the first 2 week. She was AMAZED. She knew that this was the missing puzzle piece in her fitness journey. She found her confidence again and felt amazing. She knew helping others feel the same exact way was her calling.

With inches gone and a body she is CONFIDENT in, Bridget has never been in better shape and felt better.

She loves sharing her journey as she balances everything from working crazy hours during tax season, healthy family lifestyle and budget tips at and

Alyssa Black – Woodbury, MN

Alyssa is a wife and mom of two, ages 3 and 1. When she went back to working her full-time job after her younger daughter was born, Alyssa really struggled with her confidence: her confidence in herself as a wife and as a mother, as an employee and co-worker, and just being able to balance everything. She was an avid gym-goer prior to having her babies. Once she became a mom, she couldn’t stay consistent. It was too hard to get the motivation to go, and she would rather spend that every moment available with her littles. Meanwhile, she was eating whatever she could scrounge up between frozen pizzas, and her son’s leftover corn dogs, and drowning her sorrows every night in a bowl of ice cream. Her regular pants were still tight due to baby weight, and her self-esteem was in the toilet. Five months after having her daughter, Alyssa decided enough was enough, and it was time to take action and stop feeling sorry for herself. She started the 21 Day Fix and drinking Shakeology daily. Within DAYS, she noticed a change in her attitude and energy. She wasn’t falling asleep on the couch every night at 8:00 and for the first time in her LIFE she was eating a well-balanced diet. She was approaching things with a ‘can-do’ attitude versus, ‘poor me’.

Alyssa had found the missing piece: taking care of herself! In dedicating 30 minutes each day to exercise, drinking a superfoods shake daily, and caring about the foods she was putting into her body, she was gaining confidence and self-worth, and discovering who she was made to be. These tools have changed Alyssa’s life (and her family’s!), and they have found a permanent place in her future!

Emily Coldiron – Rochester, MN

December 2016.

Emily realized she had lost herself among the responsibilities of being a Momma to three littles, a wife, and a full time nurse practitioner. She had always exercised and taken pride in meal planning and providing well-balanced meals for her family. However, she was giving 110% to everyone else and her cup had run dry. She wasn’t doing anything on a daily basis to fill “her” up. She was defeated and overwhelmed. She needed a change.

This realization came on the heels of her baby’s 1st birthday. You see, when her first born turned 1, she ran her 4th full marathon. When her middle child turned 1, she finished a half-marathon in sub-2 hours. When her baby turned 1, she walked a fun-run Turkey Trot while pushing a double stroller. Although this was a fun and memorable start to our Thanksgiving day as a family – her fitness level (or lack there of) did not sit well in her heart. She had to find a way to incorporate daily exercise back into her life and make herself a priority.

Enter Beachbody.

Emily took a chance and signed up for a 1 month free membership trial. She began exercising daily following the 21 Day Fix Extreme program. It was hard. It took dedication and commitment. She woke up EARLY! Her soft and squishy Momma body covered her former toned runner physique. But…..”she” was awakened. She loved and craved the variety. The treadmill offered absolutely no appeal nor did running in general. What a great alternative Beachbody provided. She felt like she found a hidden jewel!

In January, Emily signed up for the All Annual Access package and has participated in monthly Challenge groups ever since. There was no turning back! Thanks to daily exercise, drinking daily Shakeology and portion controlled balanced meal planning…..Momma had found her Mo-Jo!

This journey has improved her quality of life, her relationships with her husband and her children. She is happier, more self-confidant, has more energy and feels like anything is possible. Each day truly is a gift. LIVE IT to the max!

This “hidden jewel” isn’t rocket science. The process is actually quite simple, but that is the secret to her success. Follow the workout schedule, eat from the meal plan, see results.

Emily is a giver. The majority of the roles in her life involve service to others – a daughter of God, a wife, a mother, a nurse practitioner. She gives. It’s what she does. To be her best, she will continue to follow the plan. She wants to help YOU discover the plan too. If 1 person or 100 people can feel better about themselves, improve their fitness level or eating habits then Emily will have left this world better than she found it. That after all, is what her Momma always taught her. And we all know that Momma knows best.

You can come up with a million excuses. But to be honest, there is nothing more important than YOU.

Send Emily a message and talk about what your goals and dreams are. Hohenberger Coldiron

Karla Wocken – Cold Springs, MN

Karla has always been an active individual. In middle school and high school she was involved with gymnastics and dance line. After high school, she found herself enjoying running and attending aerobics classes at a local gym. The gym was her outlet. It was a place where she could walk in as one “person” and walk out as a completely new “person.” The gym was her safe haven. She could leave her worries and “baggage” at the door and spend the next one to two hours on herself. Some weeks she exercised two hours a day, seven days a week. That was a shocking fourteen hours a week. She was exercising with this frequency because she thought she needed to, to be fit.

As a Registered Dietitian, she knew what she should and should not be consuming to nourish her body. She also knew proper daily water consumption and 30 minutes of daily physical activity was important. However, just because she knew something did not necessarily mean she followed it.

After being married to her wonderful husband for nine years and being blessed with three beautiful children under five years of age, she was missing something. She has always been a self-motivated individual, but she was not fulfilled. Did this mean her husband, children and/or family were doing something wrong? Absolutely not! She was tired, frustrated and feeling lost on her journey as a mom/wife. Initially, she thought these feelings were linked to having a three-month-old and returning from maternity leave. Was a lack of sleep and her struggle to get back to her pre-pregnancy body the culprit? Maybe, but she was within five pounds of my pre pregnancy weight through a combination of running and sporadic aerobic classes. It was something else.

With her husband’s cautious approval, she took a leap of faith on November 7th, 2016 and joined a health and fitness support and accountability group. In the back of her mind, she wondered if this support and accountability group paired with an at-home workout, Core De Force, and nutrition plan with Shakeology could really be the answer she was looking for. Today, she can tell you with confidence that she is a work-in-progress, but she is becoming the best version of herself. By dedicating 30 minutes a day to herself through a proven fitness program, she is able to be the best wife, mom, daughter, sister and friend she can be. Her fitness program was not dependent on her leaving the comfort of her own home and taking her kids to the local gym daycare. Instead, she could choose to complete her at-home workout on her own schedule and not feel that mom-guilt tugging at her heart. She could still have that class environment, and also get a great workout. Before this opportunity, she thought working out at home was hilarious. How could she get a rewarding workout completed at home in a matter of 30 minutes? Well, she was humbled when she completed day one of her MMA (mixed martial arts)-inspired fitness program. Not only was she gasping for air and dripping with sweat when she finished the 27-minute workout, but she could hardly walk the next day because of her sore muscles. By incorporating a proven fitness program (one of dozens of workouts available), a balanced eating plan and proper water consumption, she was able to get in the best shape of her life.

Kaitlyn Vander Schaaf – Bloomington, MN

Kaitlyn told her husband not so long ago, “I don’t like my life. I’m not happy…” He was confused, as probably anyone from the outside would’ve been. It looked like she had everything she had ever wanted. A beautiful healthy 1 year old daughter. A loyal husband. A good paying occupation as a CPA that she actually enjoyed. A secluded, scenic house. Money in the bank. Traveling around the world on the company’s dime. But she was missing one thing…the only thing that actually mattered.

She was filling herself up with what the world told her would make her happy. Honestly, for quite a few years she thought she was doing pretty darn well, enjoying living life without feeling the need to please God or anyone else. It was quite freeing after growing up in small town Iowa where it felt like everywhere there was pressure to go to church every week, refrain from all alcohol, not swear, etc. She enjoyed all these Minneapolis people not giving a crap about what she did or how she lived. Kaitlyn figured maybe when she got old, then she would get serious about the whole God thing. She didn’t want to miss out on all the fun stuff this world offers.

It wasn’t until Kaitlyn started this very physical transformation that she realized how powerful and fulfilling God truly is. When she forced herself to STOP filling herself with food, wine, and trashy TV to mask her emotions, she faced her emptiness head on. When she worked out in the quiet morning hour, God used that opportunity to speak truth into her life. When she was asked to be a Beachbody coach, God kept telling her THAT is how He wants to use her right now. At every step in the journey, God met her right where she was at.

If you would have told her a month ago that she would be willing to share this story with all of you, she would have told you, “you are crazy!” But Kaitlyn has realized she has nothing to lose and everything to gain. She already had everything this world had to offer, and it frankly was not worth living for. She realizes now more than ever, HE is her SOLE reason she gets up every morning, why she lives to encourage others in their health and fitness journey and why she daily shares her raw emotions and unfiltered life on social media. Living in His will…in that alone she has gained all that matters. Everything else is just fluff. Follow her on Facebook as she avoids the fluff and focuses on He who truly matters as she works, does mom life, and everything in between.

Turning Your Inspiration Into Action

When I started my own healthy living journey two years ago, I was terrified. I didn’t want to give up my favorite comfort foods and treats, even though I knew I probably should. But I have to tell you, today, my life is SO much more FULL than those treats could have ever made me. I have found my TRUE comfort in Christ instead of food, and I’ve also found an incredible community of women to lift me up when I’m tempted to quit.

This is why we call our tribe REAL WOMEN CONQUER! Because we believe that REAL women can conquer ANYTHING!

If you are READY to take some baby steps toward your own healthy living journey, I would absolutely love to invite you to join us. Please feel free to connect with any of the women you met above (they are now coaches on my team because of the progress they’ve made and their desire to pay this forward). Simply follow their social media links to find an email address for them! If you resonated with any of their stories, please reach out. They would LOVE to be your coach and help you have success too!

Otherwise, if you’d like to work with me personally, I also have a boot camp coming up starting on MONDAY (April 3rd)! This online boot camp will last for 4 weeks, and we will be talking about how to focus on progress instead of being defeated by perfection! Every day, you will receive daily encouragement from me to stay on track, and I wil ask you to log your workouts and nutrition to hold you accountable!

To request information about this, please fill out this form! Today is the LAST day to sign up! I have a special offer for anyone who registers by 11pm CST Friday night 3/31!

Virtual Boot Camp Giveaway with Mommy’s Me Time Fitness!

UPDATE: Winner of the GIVEAWAY is Erin Huie!

Two years ago, I took a chance on myself.

At the time, I had four kids (four and under). My youngest was six month old, and I was completely exhausted.

It was February. I had just turned 29 and Jake and I were on the way home from a trip to Hawaii. I was feeling defeated, because every photo I saw of myself in a swimsuit made me wonder if I’d ever feel comfortable in my own skin again. To the outside world, anyone who saw me probably would have thought I looked just fine. But it didn’t matter. I felt lousy, I had no energy, and I was desperate for something, ANYTHING to help me out of the rut I was in.

During one of our layovers, I was scrolling through Facebook when I noticed that a friend of mine was talking about the 21 Day Fix, an exercise program she was using that had given her amazing results. My mind told me it was probably some kind of scam, but my heart told me I needed to try it.

I ordered it on a whim (against my husband’s wishes).

It arrived to my house, and I started to push play. Day by day I started to get stronger. I started to see inches melt away and I started to feel like myself again for the first time since being a mom.

The next month, I decided to try Shakeology, because although I was getting results from the workouts, my nutrition wasn’t great. I incorporated Shakeology and the portion control containers, and it was SO SIMPLE to do as a busy mom.

I had more energy than ever before, I didn’t want to crawl in bed when my kids napped anymore, and mentally I was in a much healthier spot.

In that moment, I decided I needed to share this amazing program and community with others, and ever since I’ve been running monthly “boot camps” where I encourage women daily as they work toward their goals. As these women get amazing results, they too want to share it and several of them decide to join my team as coaches! In two years, my tribe has grown and we are now ranked number 20 in the entire Beachbody company out of 450,000+ teams!

I never in a million years thought that I’d be a virtual health and fitness coach. I toyed around with the idea for a while to be a personal trainer because health and fitness has always been a passion of mine, but this is honestly a way better fit for me! I get to work from home and choose my own hours, while mentoring and coaching other women! I don’t have to go into a gym every day, but instead I can work out from anywhere and encourage my customers to do the same!

What I love about Team Beachbody the most, is that it’s all about how to live a healthy lifestyle. It’s not just about getting six pack abs (although that often happens), it’s about creating a balanced lifestyle that isn’t obsessive. It’s about being healthy not so that we can look a certain way, but so that we can FEEL a certain way, and have more to give to the people we love! We think about ourselves, so we can forget about ourselves! We want to be around for the long haul for our kiddos, and that means taking care of our physical bodies!

Beachbody Coaching is the BEST thing that has ever happened to me (besides being a wife and mommy!) I get to live out my passion every day, and I get to help ordinary women like myself discover that they have skills and talents that can be used to provide for their families! Dream jobs really do exist, friends! You’ve just gotta be willing to look outside the box! God’s plans are always bigger than our own!

To celebrate my TWO year anniversary as a Team Beachbody Coach, I am giving away a FREE YEAR of access into my virtual boot camps! The next one starts on March 6th! If you win, I will send you the All Access Beachbody On Demand Challenge Pack. This is a $199 value and includes a month of Shakeology, Portion Fix (our healthy eating plan complete with portion control containers), AND a year subscription to Beachbody On Demand which will include access to ALL the Beachbody programs ever released PLUS any new ones that will come out this year!

Please enter using Rafflecopter below! I will pick a winner on Monday, February 27th! You must live in either the United States or Canada to enter, and may not be a Team Beachbody Coach.

My Side Hustle Saved My Life

A year and a half ago I was a stay-at-home mom to four kids. My oldest was three, my twins were two, and my youngest was 6 months. I was drowning, my husband was working ALL THE TIME, and I was alone with the kids close to 24/7. I felt sorry for myself. I didn’t feel like anyone around me really understood what my days were like, and I honestly dreaded when Sunday night would come around knowing Jake had to go to work the next day.

I felt confused. Why didn’t being a mom feel like enough? Isn’t this what I was created to do? I should be so happy to be at home while my husband works as much as he needs to so he can provide for our family. I should LOVE my time with my kids.

As I thought about it more, I realized the issue wasn’t that I didn’t love the time with my kids. Because I did. I loved the ordinary moments with them, watching them grow and learning something new every day. I loved playing with them and reading to them. I loved watching them become best of friends with each other as they all became mobile and running all over the house. I LOVED being a stay-at-home mom.

The REAL problem, was that somewhere along the way I completely lost myself. I was so focused on my family and making sure that we were keeping our heads above water, that I forgot how to focus on anything else.

I reached a low one day when I looked in the mirror and asked myself who I was anymore. How did I get to this point? I didn’t have time for hobbies or anything that filled me up. Even my body didn’t feel like my own. I was carrying baby weight, living off my kids’ leftovers, and so tired that by the time I put my kids down to nap every afternoon, my head would hit the pillow and I’d be out too. I’d wake up feeling totally out of it, and the next few hours until Jake came home each evening felt like they lasted FOREVER.

Sometime in there, Jake and I got to go on a trip just the two of us. I was in a swimsuit the entire week and it was my breaking point. I vowed that day that I would never let myself feel so low about my body every again. I’ve never been overweight, and some people would probably say I had nothing to feel low about, but the truth is, it doesn’t matter how we “look” on the outside. It’s how we feel on the inside that affects everything else, and I felt lousy.

The rest is history. I tried the 21 Day Fix and Shakeology, and for the first time since becoming a mom, I actually felt like a piece of me was coming alive again. I had confidence, I felt sexy, I had energy, I saw myself in a positive light, and all I wanted was for other moms to experience the same hope I had.

I was at a crossroads. I loved the 21 Day Fix and Shakeology, but did I REALLY want to join one of those “pyramid scheme” things? I was the biggest skeptic of network marketing, and would roll my eyes at my friends who did it.

At the end of the day, I decided that the only thing getting in the way of me helping a lot of people was my pride. In reality, after doing my research, I learned that it was the farthest thing from a pyramid scheme. I became a Team Beachbody Coach. At first it was just so I could get a discount on Shakeology. Then a fire lit inside me. I saw the potential to help thousands of people by building a team, far more than I could help on my own, and I decided to go for it.

Little did I know the decision I made that day would completely change the trajectory of my life.

Since I started as a Team Beachbody Coach in April of 2015, I have experienced many ups and downs. It took some time to transition from a stay-at-home mom to a work-at-home mom. It took some time to learn how to work the business in a way that felt authentic to me. It took some time to learn how to effectively lead a team and help my coaches start on their paths to success.

But man, I’m so glad I was willing to lay my pride aside. Throughout this journey, I’ve found myself again. I’m no longer the nagging wife texting my husband wondering when he’ll be home. I’m no longer the mom who has no energy to play with her kids. I’m no longer focused on myself and pouting in a corner about how hard life is. I have something of my own and it feels amazing.

I started thinking that it would be a passion project, and that if I made any extra money, that would be an added bonus. Today, it’s still a passion project. I coach because I truly love my clients and coaches, but I’m also building a business that will leave a legacy for my family. I’m sending my kids to private school with the money I’ve worked for. I’m setting aside money for their college education, and I’m teaching them how to be generous to others. I’ve been able to take some of the financial burden off of Jake, and our marriage is less stressed because of it.

Today, I’m still focused on being a mom and wife, but I’m also focused on people outside my family. I’m using the gifts that God’s given me to connect with others, to build them up, and help them rediscover who THEY ARE!

I thought this Beachbody Coaching thing would be a nice side hustle, but it has absolutely saved my life. I’m me again! My cup is filled up daily! There’s no greater feeling in the world than feeling like you’ve found your calling. Beachbody Coaching is the perfect fit for me. I’ve found my people, my positive community of like-minded Christian women who want to serve others. What a JOY it is to be on a mission together. The best part? We still get to be at home with our kids. We get to pick our work hours and have flexibility to enjoy the sweet moments with our growing children. I’m forever grateful for this opportunity, and I’m so confident in our mission. My heart gets so happy when I get to share it with others.

This week, I’m hosting a group on Facebook where I’m sharing what it looks like to be a Beachbody Coach on my team. If you’ve ever considered coaching, I would love to chat with you. Our team is amazing, and I know you would love the community. This is not about selling. It’s about sharing your journey and inspiring others. You should also know that everything you need to know to have a successful business is learned. What you need to bring to the table is a heart that wants to help others. I can’t teach that, but I can teach everything else! You don’t need a large social media following. You don’t need to be in great shape. You can start where you’re at! Oh, and you should also know that this is NOT old school network marketing. We have a unique and FUN way of doing things that isn’t spammy or salesy or requires you to pressure your friends and family. We do things very differently on my team, and I’d love for you to be a part of it!

If you’d like to learn more about what it looks like to be a coach on my team, I’d love for you to join this private Facebook group: A Behind The Scenes Look At Beachbody Coaching On A Top Team!

No strings attached, I promise! Not my style. 🙂

I’m excited to get to know you, and if it’s a good fit, welcome you into our tribe and mission!

I Thought I Was Too Good For Sunscreen. Then I Was Diagnosed With Melanoma.

I’ve lived in the midwest all my life. By the time summer comes each year, and the weather finally gets warm enough to go outside without layers upon layers, I’m SO ready to soak in the sun.

I was born and raised on a farm, and was outside constantly. I’ve always tanned easily, and loved the challenge of trying to get as tan as possible. When I was in high school, I worked as a lifeguard. I rarely wore sunscreen even though I was teaching swimming lessons and lifeguarding 10 – 12 hours a day.

I’d see other people put sunscreen on, but frankly I thought most of the time it was lame. I didn’t need sunscreen.

I went to college in Minnesota, and come winter I’d go to the tanning bed to warm up and get a little color. I hated how I looked when I got to be pasty white!

After college Jake and I enjoyed a few years of kid-free married life. We took so many vacations when I never applied a DROP of sunscreen.

When I started having kids, I started to think about sunscreen. I made sure to apply it on them when they were out in the sun, but still didn’t bother to put it on myself. In fact, if I got it on my hands, I might even wash it off.

During each of my pregnancies, I developed more and more moles. I’ve always been a moley person, but pregnancy gave me 20 times MORE! I had a few that I was worried about, so in June I went for a mole check. The dermatologist gave me a full body scan, and none of the mole I was worried about were concerning to him. The only thing he was concerned about was a tiny mole on my foot. I NEVER would have gone in to the dermatologist to get it checked. It was so little and not raised at all.

He removed it to be biopsied, and a few days later I got a call. It was him calling and not one of his nurses, so I knew it was probably serious. Sure enough, he told me the mole came back with a diagnosis of melanoma. Thankfully, it was still in the early stages, so they did a surgery on my foot to take out a large chunk of skin, and after a couple weeks, I was back to normal.

It all happened so fast, that it almost seemed like it didn’t happen at all. But it’s wild to think about what could have happened had they not caught it early. He said once melanoma gets into the bloodstream, there’s pretty much nothing they can do. He has several melanoma patients who he monitors regularly for a few months or years, knowing that there isn’t a cure, and that it will only be a matter of time until they stop coming to see him.

I’m 30 years old. I have so much life ahead of me. I have four beautiful kids. I have a wonderful husband. I have a career that I love. It’s crazy to think just how much I could have missed out on. I’ve always been insecure about my moles, but now I’m grateful because if I hadn’t gotten all the bigger moles, I would have probably waited a while to go in for a check. Within the next months and years, I’ll be getting several more moles removed as a precautionary step. He said we’ll remove ANYTHING that’s questionable.

I thought I was too good for sunscreen. That all changed the day I was diagnosed with melanoma. This summer has looked very different than most. I don’t leave the house without sunscreen. I’m white as white can be, and I’m okay with it!

My sweet sister-in-law, Madison, made this really easy for me. The minute she heard about everything she sent me a bottle of her amazing sunscreen and tinted moisturizer with SPF 20. She’s a Beautycounter consultant, and ever since this scare I’ve become much more open-eared to everything she’s got in her back pocket. All her products are natural and beautiful and I’ve loved every one I’ve tried so far.

This week, I asked if she’d open up an online party for all of you. I’d like to give away the Beautycounter products I earn from this social back to you. I don’t care about making money or getting free stuff. I really just want YOU to have quality products, and truthfully, my sister-in-law does an amazing job taking care of her clients. She’ll be able to help you find exactly what you need.

If you think you’re too good for sunscreen, you aren’t. At the very least get yourself some of this Dew Skin moisturizer so you can put it on in the morning and not have to worry when you step outside. Did you know you should be wearing sunscreen EVEN when you walk to your mailbox and back? Yep. I learned that one from my dermatologist. While you’re shopping, grab some sunscreen. It isn’t greasy, which means even my husband will wear it. 🙂

Our party will only be open for a few days (through July 23rd) because I want you to get your products ASAP! You can check out all the awesome products here: Mommy’s Me Time Online Beautycounter Social.

Let’s take care of our skin. It’s just as important as every other part of our bodies!

A Chance For YOU To Be On An Infomercial!

Hey everybody!

I have a pretty cool opportunity to share with you today, but before I do, I wanted to share my backstory in case you haven’t heard it.

A little over a year ago I was at a point post baby #4 when my maternity clothes were too big, but I still wasn’t fitting into my pre-baby clothes comfortably. I didn’t feel my best and it was affecting my mood toward my husband and kids. I spent most of my days wearing yoga pants and baggy shirts to try to hide my problem areas. We had been so busy with the kids that we weren’t prioritizing nutrition. We’d order in take-out several times a week and our diet was pretty heavy in carbs. We were operating in survival mode, and I was sick of it. I reached a low after we returned from a trip to Hawaii. Spending an entire week feeling self conscious in my bathing suit was my breaking point.

When we got back I realized that I had to make a lifestyle change. I wanted to kick the extra baby weight and flab to the curb once and for all and needed something to give me a little extra motivation. I saw several friends on Facebook talking about the 21 Day Fix and Shakeology, and for months I’d ignored it. I figured it was probably just another one of those schemes for people to make money off me. But when you’re desperate for change, you’re willing to try just about anything.

I told Jake I wanted to try it, and to be honest he shot me down. We already had a gym membership and he wasn’t excited about spending more money on fitness than we already were. I may have pitched a little bit of a fit, and later that week I placed my order.

When I got my box in the mail I was giddy and slightly terrified. I ordered the 21 Day Fix Challenge Pack which came with a 30 day supply of Shakeology, seven 30 minute at-home workouts, a nutrition plan with portion control containers, and a free 30 day trial for Beachbody On Demand that allowed me to stream the workouts online.

Even though I had been going to the gym regularly, I went through a round of the 21 Day Fix and got my butt kicked in the BEST kind of way. I learned how to eat whole healthy foods in the right portions, and worked muscle groups that I don’t think had EVER been worked before! I was loving my results and for the first time since having my kids I felt like my body was starting to feel like my own again.

After a few more rounds my body needed another challenge, so I ordered the 21 Day Fix EXTREME, which is an entirely different series of workouts that are even more challenging.

The 21 Day Fix EXTREME contains more plyometrics and more intense circuits. When Jake and I went to Vegas in July I felt SO different than I had when we were in Hawaii in February. I actually WANTED to be in a swimsuit!

Since last summer, I’ve tried several other Beachbody programs, and I’ve loved them all for different reasons, but the program I keep going back to again and again when I want to feel REALLY toned and defined is the 21 Day Fix EXTREME. It’s hands down my very FAVORITE Beachbody program at this point. I love the workouts and the celebrity trainer, Autumn Calabrese, who leads them. When it comes down to it, I’ve realized that in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle, you have to find your soul mate workout. Something that you actually look forward to, otherwise it’s far too easy to come up with an excuse to skip it!

The pictures below show the progress I’ve made since I started last year. Why do I share these photos? If you know me personally, you know that it isn’t easy for me to put myself out there like this. But I still do it because taking care of my physical body has impacted every other area of my life. I have more energy for my kids, I feel sexy and actually want to be intimate with my husband, and mentally my stress and depression level is kept to a minimum because of the amazing endorphins our bodies were designed to release when we break a sweat! Working out has become a time of worship for me, to reconnect with my Creator and remind myself that I was fearfully and wonderfully made. In the chance that my results inspire you some of you to carve out some time for yourself, sharing them is completely worth it to me, despite what other people might think of me for doing so.

I haven’t been perfect along the way, and I’m definitely still on my own journey, but that’s the beauty of life, you know? Walking alongside each other, recognizing that none of us have it all figured out, but that by leaning on each other we can accomplish amazing things.

On July 5th I have an opportunity for you to join me so we can accomplish something AMAZING together. I’m a Beachbody coach, and Beachbody is getting ready to create an infomercial for the 21 Day Fix EXTREME program, and they are going to be using raw footage from those of us who go through the program in July! That means if you get awesome results, YOU could be the one on TV inspiring millions of people!

I’m excited about this for a few reasons. One, I’m ready to challenge myself. Typically in my boot camps I preach the 80/20 rule. We try to eat healthy 80% of the time, and then realize that 20% of the time life happens. It’s all about balance.

But once in a while, it’s necessary for me to go ALL in to make sure that I’m not letting that 20% to become 30 or 40%. During the July 5th challenge, we will be going ALL in, to break through plateaus, and push our bodies to see just HOW much we can do in 21 days!

If you’ve done the 21 Day Fix and need a challenge, then this test group is for you! If you want to get ripped, toned, or chiseled, this test group is also for you! If you want to get bikini ready, this group is for you. There are just so many reasons I want you in this group because I KNOW you are going to come out the other side feeling like you’re in the best shape of your life!

Here’s how it’ll work:

  • We’ll be in a private Facebook group together where I will post encouragement and motivation THREE TIMES A DAY to keep you on track. A week before the group starts, I’ll give you all my tips and tricks for success! We’ll make sure you feel super prepared for the start date!
  • You will track your food and workouts via an app to make sure you have PLENTY of one on one accountability!
  • You will be assigned an accountability partner with the same goals you have!

If you’re interested in joining me for this 3 week adventure that can transform your body and life, I would absolutely LOVE for you to email me to get signed up. Normally the 21 Day Fix EXTREME Challenge Pack is $160, but through the end of June it’s $140. I have an even sweeter deal to offer you if you email me! Shoot me an email at and I’ll get you all the details!

I’m SO excited to help you feel confident in your own skin! We’re going to have SO much fun holding each other accountable! Several of my coaches will be co-leading this group WITH me so you will have every opportunity to get the BEST RESULTS of your life!

I should also mention, I am currently accepting NEW coaches onto my team! If you want to start with the 21 Day Fix EXTREME, you could hop into this test group, get amazing results, and start your coaching journey! I LOVE mentoring women to grow successful businesses where we serve other women!

A Diet That Every Farm Kid Can Get Excited About

I grew up on a feedlot in northwest Iowa. My dad has been raising cattle since before I was born, and these days he and my brother Jason are tag teaming it, working hard every day to bring the world quality beef that (in my opinion) tastes better than anything on earth.

Growing up, our meals consisted of meat, potatoes, and veggies, with plenty of butter to make them taste delicious. Today, my favorite meal is still a piece of red meat, and lucky for me, my parents keep us stocked with a deep freeze full of it.

At some point, though, I decided I wanted to be “healthy” and everything I read told me to choose chicken and fish over red meat. I’ve never completely given up beef, but I did cut back significantly. Additionally, I switched from pork bacon to turkey bacon, and the list could go on and on. I figured that was just the way it had to be if I wanted to take care of myself.

About a month ago, I was listening to a podcast that was talking about a high fat, moderate protein, low carb diet. It piqued my interest because for YEARS I’ve been buying low fat everything. Low fat yogurt, low fat milk, low fat cottage cheese, and had basically cut out butter all together, replacing it low calorie cooking spray whenever I made eggs, ect. Instead of fat, my diet has been high in protein, and what I learned is that I was actually focusing on protein too much.

After I listened to the podcast I decided to do a bunch of my own research, trying to figure out what made sense to me.

Studies have shown that by taking fat out of our diets, we are actually more susceptible to Alzheimer’s and other problems in the brain. Now, we’re not talking about pizza or cupcakes being healthy, but real healthy fat. The kind of fat we find in beef, and butter, and coconuts, and avocados, ect.

So if fat isn’t making us fat, what is? It might actually be eating too many grains paired with not enough exercise. Think about it. Farmers know this best. If you want to fatten up cattle, feed them some grain and as long as they don’t move around too much they’ll pack on the pounds. Turns out, the same is true for humans! Interestingly enough, most recent research is showing that people who have heart attacks aren’t necessarily people with high cholesterol from healthy fats, but people eating too much sugar. When I heard that it resonated with me, because my dad had a heart attack last October and he always has very healthy cholesterol levels, but he used to eat quite a bit of candy and other carbs.

After reading up on many different high fat diet options, I ended up circling back to the book mentioned in the podcast, because I didn’t want to go to a super high fat diet known as a ketogenic diet. A ketogenic diet means that you’re getting up to 85% of your calories from fat, and that just didn’t seem like a lifestyle that I’d be able to keep up.

I purchased the ebook called The M.A.D.E. Diet, which takes into account how active you are and gives you a formula to calculate your macros. It also incorporates intermittent fasting, in this context which means that I eat all my food within an 8 hour window so that my body can really reach a point when it’s fasted between 12 – 16 hours where it’s really able to burn off fat stores! For the last month 50% of my diet has come from fat, 30% from protein, and 20% from carbs, and I’ve truly never felt better. I have more energy than I know what to do with!

I now eat eggs fried in butter, red meat, heavy whipping cream, real bacon, almond butter, and other healthy fats on the regular. I’ve found a lifestyle that finally makes sense to me because it’s something I can do long term, and the best of all is that I get to enjoy farm food again without feeling a bit guilty! Not to mention, I’ve lost 5 pounds that I didn’t really even have a goal of losing, but always a bonus! AND all bloating has gone away! I’ve been documenting my entire journey on my fitness Instagram account: @amberkuiperfitness, so if you’d like to see what it’s like to enjoy some good wholesome fat in your life, please feel free to take a peak!

My mom and dad are in my virtual boot camp starting today, and I created a menu for them today so all they have to do is implement. They couldn’t believe everything I was telling them they HAD to eat in a day! (Turns out after years of me preaching “healthy” food, they already knew what they were doing). I’m excited about this because it seems that every time I talk with people from a farming background that it’s harder for them to get on the healthy living train because they’re scared they’ll have to give up their comfort food. Well, it turns out farmers were right all along. Enjoy farm grown meat and veggies with butter, and you’re on track! Just stay away from too many grains and all the sugar!

I’ve had so much interest in my virtual boot camp that started today, that I’ve decided to open up another pop-up boot camp starting next Monday, June 13th when I can teach more people about how to successfully implement this lifestyle. There’s not a one size fits all diet, but this definitely is the perfect fit for me and I’m excited to share it with others who might feel the same way!

My boot camp starting next week Monday will follow the 21 Day Fix and 21 Day Fix EXTREME workout calendars, and will focus on this high fat diet. The 21 Day Fix is an at home workout program that can be done from the comfort of your own home in just 30 minutes a day. It’s the program I’ve had the most success with and is on sale this month for the lowest price it EVER gets (21 Day Fix + Shakeology = $140), plus I’m offering free shipping! It would be a true joy to work with you!

Why I’m More Fired Up Than Ever About Healthy Living

Fit Through The AgesLast October, I almost lost my dad to a heart attack. Almost. He had a 1% chance to live and he survived. A second chance to live life to the fullest. Last week, a spot on my foot was diagnosed with melanoma. Thankfully, they caught it early, and it hadn’t gotten into my bloodstream yet. I was able to have a small surgery to remove it. I’ll write more about that later after I’ve had more of a chance to process. At this point, I’m still in shock over the scare my body went through this past week. It all sort of feels like a dream. All I know is that God has given me a second chance too, and I’m not about to waste it.

Over the last year I’ve started to post more about health and fitness, and maybe some of you roll your eyes because it just isn’t what you want to hear, or you’re tired of yet one more person reminding you that you might need to make a change. I get it. I used to look at healthy people and think they didn’t know how to have any fun. I was the biggest sugar addict, and there was no way I was giving up my nightly bowl of ice cream. “Life’s too short not to enjoy good food,” I thought frequently!

It’s funny how God humbles us though, and sometimes calls us to do things we never thought we’d be able to do. I’m not perfect. Being healthy isn’t always easy. Heck, I’ve started over a million times. But I’ll tell you this: It’s WORTH starting over because every time I get a little bit stronger. It’s about progress, not perfection. That’s life, isn’t it? Let’s just do our best and show up and celebrate it! It’s worth putting my best foot forward to know that I’m doing all I can to be around for the long haul. So I can see my kids grow. So I can enjoy life’s most precious moments.

I’m still a work in progress. We all are. OBVIOUSLY I need to do a better job of protecting my skin, which sucks because I love getting a tan. But now I get it. I’ll force myself to do whatever I can to prevent anything taking me from my kids too soon.

My heart has never been more fired up to help anyone and everyone prioritize their health. This isn’t about making money. It’s about legitimately meeting people WHERE THEY’RE AT, and walking alongside them. It’s about looking each other in the face and acknowledging that it’s hard to lose weight, to make healthy choices, to work out. But that TOGETHER, we can do hard things.

Take my friend, Katherine, for example (pictured below). She is down 37 pounds since February 15th, because she was willing to work her hardest, AND because she had a supportive group of women around her. I can’t even tell you how proud I am of her.

On June 6th I’m leading a virtual boot camp called “Fit Through The Ages” to help more brave souls like Katherine and myself to feel confident and healthy. When God put the idea on my heart for this boot camp, I had no idea that I’d have foot surgery around the same time to remove melanoma. I simply wanted a boot camp that would welcome people of ALL AGES to get healthy. My PARENTS are even joining me, and I could cry just thinking about THAT!

But now, I’m even MORE excited. Because I’m 110% sure that this is my calling. I’m so excited that I’ve invited some of my coaches to help me lead this boot camp so we can help even more people.

I’m reaching a point where my spots are almost filled, but I have several coaches who I’ve hand picked to help. You will still be in the same boot camp with me, meaning that I’ll be posting daily encouragement in a private Facebook group, but THEY will walk alongside you and offer you one on one support to make sure you don’t get lost in the crowd. They’ll love you like crazy and hold you accountable to get the results you want.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let us help you be a success story. Let us encourage you and lift you up and tell you how amazing you are! You can email me at and I’ll send you more information.

What it looks like?

We’ll work together to help you find a workout program you can do from HOME. We’ll also set you up with an eating plan that will teach you how to eat healthier. We’ll then place you in a private Facebook group where we’ll shower you with encouragement and motivation to stay on track, where we can get to know you and your beautiful heart.

My team and I are praying for the people who we’ll have the privilege to help. Let’s make THIS the summer where we go all in TOGETHER!

A Brand New Organic Candy To Look For At Target

I consider myself a health conscious newbie. I’m a student, and am constantly learning new ways to incorporate healthy living into my family’s day to day life. With that said, I also completely believe in a balanced lifestyle. The 80/20 rule, if you will. 80% of the time, I do my best to make sure my kids eat well-rounded meals with plenty of nutrients. But there are also days when I feed them macaroni and cheese and reward them with candy.

What I’m learning though, is that I can give my kids treats, but be smarter about it than I used to be. For example, a couple years ago I switched from regular macaroni and cheese to macaroni and cheese that is free of artificial flavors and colors. I also switched from the cheapest hot dogs to ones that are 100% beef with lower calories, fat, and sodium. The kids don’t taste the difference between these things, but I feel a little better knowing that they aren’t getting “as much” crap.

When it comes to candy, ideally I’m looking for something that doesn’t have high fructose corn syrup, and contain no artificial flavors or colors. Why is artificial flavors and colors such a big deal to me? Because they have been linked with hyperactivity, allergic reactions, and tumor growth. In Europe, food with artificial colors are now required to include “may have an adverse effect on activity and attention in children!” As a mom to four little kids, the last thing I want to do is welcome in MORE hyperactivity than normal! 🙂

With that said, I know sugar is still sugar. But hey, kids gotta be kids, right? What’s life without a little candy to celebrate the everyday successes?

I was recently told about a brand new organic candy line that’s now available at Target. My ears perked up because I love when I can find things like this without having to go to a specialty grocery store!

The brand is called SurfSweets, and we received some to sample the other day. My kids were OVER the moon excited when candy showed up on our doorstep, and I was even more excited because I knew it was free of corn syrup and artificial colors and flavors.

This candy was seriously AMAZING and addicting and it will definitely be our go-to when we’re choosing our treats from now on.

I’m really excited to help get the name of this brand out there. I’ve become very selective with the brands I partner with because they need to align with my family’s beliefs and goals, and it’s been fun to find a perfect partnership.

SurfSweets is giving away a prize pack full of treats to one lucky Mommy’s Me Time reader! You will also be entered to win a $50 Amazon gift card! Simply enter using Rafflecopter below! You must be 18 years old to enter. The giveaway will be open through May 23rd. U.S. mailing addresses only!

Cinco De Mayo The Skinny Way

We’re back from wine country, and settled back into normal life. I’ll be sharing a recap of our entire trip soon!

In the meantime, I’m excited to celebrate Cinco De Mayo! Since becoming a mom, I’ve learned that celebrating holidays like this is a great way to break up the week and add a little something special to look forward to.

Preschool Express has some really cute Cinco De Mayo crafts for the kiddos!

I thought I’d share a few tips about how we plan to celebrate Cinco De Mayo this year by keeping it on the “skinny” side.

Our favorite Mexican food to make at home are fajitas. They’re pretty healthy, and our local grocery store (Jerry’s Foods) actually has fajita flavored meat and peppers ready to go in the meat department, so we just pick it up, throw it on the grill, and into our fajitas. Top with pico de gallo, lettuce, a little cheese, and some plain greek yogurt (to replace sour cream), and we’ve got a delicious meal.

The kids aren’t into fajitas, so I throw together some quick chicken and cheese quesadillas for them. In order to refrain from snacking on half a bag of tortilla chips while I do so, I usually try to have a healthier snack while prepping. Per usual, FLYJOY is a go to.

Cinco de Mayo isn’t complete without a good margarita, but I’m going to try to keep it skinny with this recipe from my FIXATE cookbook!

Skinny Margarita

Skinny Margarita

Ingredients: 2 – 3 fresh lime wedges, 2 – 3 fresh orange wedges, 2 Tbsp. fresh lime juice, 1/2 tsp. honey, 1 cup ice, 1 oz. 100% agave tequila, 1 splash sweet & sour mixer

Instructions: Place lime wedges, orange wedges, lime juice, and honey in the bottom of a serving glass; muddle until well mixed. Top with ice, tequila, and mixer. Stir to mix. Garnish with a  lime slice.

I’m guessing I may need more than one of these little guys, but it’s definitely a healthier alternative! 🙂
